Our client, International Business and Technical Consultants Inc (IBTCI) a multinational consulting firm, is looking for 3 experts for a midterm evaluation assignment expected to begin on or about the third week of September 2010 in Rift Valley, Kakamega, Nairobi and Mombasa.
Total input per person is estimated as follows:
• Conflict Management & Mitigation Specialist – 25 days
• Institutional Strengthening Specialist – 25 days
• Natural Resource Management Specialist/Ecologist -25 days
Governance and Policy Reform Specialist Qualifications:
• Advanced degree in social science, policy analysis, public administration, management, international development, law, or relevant field
• Ability to interact with high-level government officials on policy/legislation issues
• 10+ years experience in the development and adoption of policy reforms within the governance arena
• 8+ years development experience in Sub-Saharan Africa
• 5+ years experience in implementing policy reform in Sub-Saharan Africa
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and as a team member
Conflict Management Specialist Qualifications:
• Advanced degree in conflict studies, socio-political environment, or a related field
• Proven ability to design conflict-mitigation strategies
• 10+ years experience in project design, management, monitoring and evaluation in the field of peace building and conflict management
• 8+ years experience working in conflict in Sub-Saharan Africa
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and as a team member
Natural Resource Management Specialist Qualifications:
• Advanced degree in environmental economics, environmental science, or related field with an emphasis on natural resource management
• Proven ability to link natural resources and nature-focused businesses at the community level
• Knowledge of U.S. Government biodiversity requirements and the USAID Foreign Assistance Framework
• 10+ years experience in the development and adoption of natural resource management technologies in developing countries
• 8+ years working in Sub-Saharan Africa
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and as a team member
